Just like hackneyed purists rely on masking, filters, dodging and burning under the enlarger, I see these tools as "tricks of the trade" that all digital photographers should at least have some understanding of. And, as you know, it made for an outstanding prom photo! I think that shutter speed made the shot. It's still quite sharp while showing movement. If it were faster, they would have looked like mannequins. This is a really great image.
