Another look at the former Empire Theatre, now the AMC Mainstreet Theatre, to reopen soon. As I’d mentioned a week ago, the building sat abandoned for decades - telling that real estate in the center of a city can sit abandoned that long.

There will be a meeting of some of the Kansas City blogging community on April 22nd, where I’ll be getting some shots in and around. In the interest of disclosure, I have contracted with AMC earlier on this set of exterior shots of the building, but will not be contracting/selling photographs from the upcoming bloggers’ meetup.

For this photo, I was out early enough that I managed to be able to stand in the street for a few seconds at a time to get the proper fisheye photos without getting maimed by the motorcars.
