April First Friday - KCMO

Shutter: 1/5 sec. // Aperture: f/4.0 // Focal Length: 17 mm // ISO 1600

I managed to get up from an afternoon slumber to get to the Crossroads area for the first First Friday this season with nice weather, unless you count February’s. That area around the Freighthouse was abuzz all evening like I don’t think I’ve seen yet. In this photo some kids who make even myself look like an old fart were doing some Kansas City themed rapping. The best part of nights like this isn’t necessarily looking at art but seeing the streets clogged and performers on the sidewalks.

I’ll be having a show of my own again this year again at the Third Eye Studio, which is across the street from where I took this photo. It’ll be in the month of June, with the 5th being the First Friday event. That combined with the website redux should provide me with some intense but fun times over the course of these coming warmer months. I’m hoping.
