A handsome horse

One handheld RAW // HDR via exposure blending // Shutter: 1/125 // Aperture: f/10 // Focal Length: 19 mm // ISO 320

What a charismatic horse! He seems to be doing well, however his partner to his left seems flustered. The left horse appeared in the January 3rd posting, where it was later revealed in the comments that the horse’s bridle and chin strap were all wrong, which likely caused discomfort.

And I’m kind of amused by the news ticker in the background and the fact that the New York set was taken in October 2008, not too long after we began realizing our economic tapestry was a house of cards, with the mortgage on that house probably being sold off as a mortgage-backed security (oh ha ha).

This photo is HDR-processed in Photomatix Pro, but unlike most where I use the tone-mapping tool, I used exposure blending here, because I wanted a more realistic look but still need a more evenly exposed shot, owing to how the sun’s reflection off of the glass skyscraper dominating the exposure of the original RAW.
