You know how the global economic meltdown is “changing the way we live and do business.” Given that, I thought it wise to begin depicting it. This storefront in particular is Harold’s on the Plaza. Sharper Image across the street already closed up, but I’m aftaid I didn’t manage to capture their going out of business signage on camera before it was gone.
So, in other matters, I have recently been trying to get a few Plaza lights shots in before the shutoff, just to kind of salvage what little I can for this season in light of the problems going on that have kept me from staying on top of these things. Anyway, a few days ago I mentioned scouting locations on the top of garages. That particular night didn’t quite work out because I had misplaced the most important part of the tripod. So I kept thinking I’d have to come back. Well, it turned out there was this epic sunset on Friday, which would have perfectly highlighted the photo I had in mind to take. I mean, that sunset looked like an acid trip. And I witnessed it sitting here at my computer at nightfall’s approach. I had meant to go but decided against it because only twenty minutes earlier the sky looked bland and I was tired. Hah. EPIC FAIL on my part on that one.
