…another one that’s been sitting in the draft queue since October. Thank Gawdess for the draft queue. It comes in handy when one hits an impasse. Impasses of various sorts all at once. Hoo hoo.

When walking back from the Plaza Lighting Ceremony I had that new Offspring single blasting on my iPod — “You’re gonna go far kid.” I’d love to list the brilliant, poetic lyrics, but the poeticism of songs is often lost in written form. Over Teh Intarwebz. With that music playing and my general irritability and annoyance at everything that night, I thought wouldn’t it be grand to have music reverberating throughout the city at all these hours. Myself and a crowd of strangers were walking up the West Plaza residentials of early 20th Century apartment buildings almost turned condos before their owners began bankruptcy teeterings in this financial collapse.

/digression.

Yeah, live music is good. From the corners of the streets throughout the day and into the night. But, we did kind of manage to pillage and destroy our city in the last century, so I guess if the city doesn’t have enough soul to support rampant live music, then we’ll pipe in You’re Gonna Go Far Kid really damn loud from huge speakers built above the neighborhoods.

“With a thousand lies and a good disguise, hit em right between the eyes…”

That would rock wouldn’t it.
