A scene from the Barack Obama rally

One handheld RAW // HDR // Shutter: 1/500 // Aperture: f/13 // Focal Length: 300 mm // ISO 320

First off - sorry about not updating this site for practically an entire week. There are times when I get overwhelmed, frenetic, and ill all at the same time, and the past few weeks has been one of those times. Nice to see though that my regular cast of viewers from all over have still been checking in despite it.

Saturday evening on the lawn at the Liberty Memorial Barack Obama spoke - with an estimated 75,000 turning out, although it was impossible for me to get a decent photo of Obama - looked like you needed a press pass. And, I’d like to complain about how they situated the rally: they placed it on the southeast section of the lawn of Liberty Memorial/Penn Valley Park - which felt awkward and cramped because the crowd of thousands of people were virtually on the same level as Obama, and thus couldn’t see him. It would have been nice if they had Obama on the steps of the Memorial with the crowd below, or have him in front of Union Station like they did when John Kerry came through here on a Friday night in 2004.

I don’t know - maybe it’s the Secret Service being picky…
