Taken on the late afternoon Tuesday, Jan. 8.

I’m sitting on a collection of new photos dating from this past Sunday morning onwards, many of which I like quite well, so I think I’m going to start making two photo posts per day for the time being, rather than the recent one a day.

I try to get the site updated no later than 9 a.m. Kansas City time every day. It’s amusing the way it inevitably plays out every morning - I get up at 8:40am after repeatedly hitting the alarm’s snooze button, go straight to the computer and check my favorite sites first thing, and then fifteen minutes before I’m supposed to be at work, I get the bright idea to make my daily post. I get the photo resized, saved to the desktop, grab the accompanying metadata, hit the publish button, and then a scurrying about commences which usually involves putting on hole-ridden socks and running out the door, culminating in getting to work with my cup of coffee about seven or eight minutes before the vaunted commodities markets open. That is, of course assuming I actually go to the trouble of going to sleep the night before. I’m thoroughly convinced that my work performance is better when I go in on no sleep whatsoever.

And now to digress - the photo above features a bit of the Crown Center secondary skyline, the western side of Union Station, and the railways. Unlike usual, I didn’t do any HDR on this shot.
